The school has recently been rebuilt and renovated, which means that the activities are conducted in nice and fresh facilities.

Special Education Teacher or Teacher for Grades 1-6 at Sjömarkenskolan

Job Responsibilities

As a special education teacher or teacher with us, you will be part of the team that meets students who need extra support in their school situation. Your responsibilities include teaching students who require special support, primarily in reading and writing. Instruction can take place individually, in smaller groups, or by providing support to students in the classroom. Your responsibilities also include collaborating with classroom teachers to develop classroom instruction with a focus on shaping approaches and methods that meet students' needs for adaptations and support in the classroom.

In close collaboration with the school's student health team and teachers, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work to meet students where they are and create conditions for them to succeed. You will also be responsible for establishing a trusting collaboration with the students' guardians.

Qualifications

For the position, we are primarily looking for a licensed special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development, but teachers with qualifications and experience in teaching Swedish in grades 1-6 are also welcome to apply. You are pedagogically skilled and have good knowledge and experience working with students in need of support and the challenges students face related to NPF. If you lack special education teacher qualifications but meet other qualifications, you will be employed under the title of teacher.

You have the ability to see all students and adapt your teaching according to the students you work with. You are structured and have the ability to plan, organize, and analyze students' learning so that they can progress as far as possible in their knowledge development.

You are a clear leader who easily builds good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You value and contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. Since close collaboration with guardians, student health, teachers, and other staff at the school is required, good collaboration skills are a must.

To fit into the role, you need to be self-driven, have the ability to take initiative, and dare to try new ways to find solutions.
